The Aisle will feature Snapshots from our members’ most recent events every other week. If you’d like a picture of your work to be included, please send your images to blog@abc-oc.net.
Here are the rules:
1. Each member can submit one photo per week.
2. You must send the image to blog@abc-oc.net with Snapshots in the subject of the email.
3. You must include a caption (8 words or less).
4. You must give credit to all the vendors involved in the elements of the photograph (include websites).
5. The images should not be more than 500 pixels wide.
The images don’t have to be from an event occurring within the week of submission but we’d like to showcase your current work (please don’t send old images).
We will try to display all of the images sent to us but we may have to limit it depending on the number of submissions. In that case, we will select images based on a theme for the week or based on the order in which they were received.
Every month we will talk about current and upcoming trends on The Aisle. If you have a fresh idea, email blog@abc-oc.net and we’ll feature your idea.
This month’s post is from Jeannie Savage of Details Details.
I would say that brides are gearing away from party favors that are placed on the napkin or table. Often times, they feel that it ruins the table top design or that it makes the table look cluttered. Candy Favor Stations have been and continue to be popular in the last few years. Candy stations have now evolved into not just bulk candy but a display of mini cupcakes, gourmet caramel apples, cookies or all the above!

Many of the vendor members wonder what exactly we get up to at our Coordinator Only meetings, well now here is your chance to find out! Our latest meeting found us at The Disneyland Hotel as guests of the Fairytale Weddings, and what a fairytale experience it was!! This blogger is a huge Disney fan, so it was an extra special treat!
The afternoon included a photo op with Mickey and Minnie (so awesome!) lunch, and tour of all their properties, which I must say, were all absolutely fabulous! What is good to note, brides that might be interested in the resort can choose the level of “Disney” they want to include in the overall theme of their weddings from none at all, to full-throttle Mickey madness!
The highlight of the afternoon came over lunch. We were treated to a wine pairing education by Master Sommelier Michael Jordan. I don’t recall the exact numbers, but there are less than 90 Master Sommeliers in the US, and I believe the 3 that are located in Orange County all work for the Disneyland Resort! So needless to say, it was a real treat!
As if that wasn’t enough, we were all delighted to find that Executive Chef Jimmy Weita, husband to our very own Michelle Weita, was also instrumental in creating the superb lunch menu!! I know, it just doesn’t get any better!
Thank you so much to everyone involved for making it such an incredible afternoon. It truly takes a village to create these events, so we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the following vendors:

The Orange County Register ran an Associated Press piece today by Madlen Read about how the economy is effecting wedding purchasing decisions. While the wedding industry has long been considered a recession-proof market, it is seeing some change this year with the economic downturn.
Do you agree with this article? Are you seeing slowing in your business this year? Is the economy effecting your business? How are you dealing with the change?
